This is the ancient Lycean region
which had it's heyday in 500 BC. Lycean tombs, foundations, harbours and rock cuttings are all around us, some preserved under water, some in the village it self; all largely unexcavated. No big hotels or mass tourism. Discos exist but not in the village.
Simena Pansiyon is owned by a young
English speaking Turkish couple who live nearby and cater for or serve breakfast. The house is on two floors with spectacular varandas facing the sea and Kekova island. All rooms open out onto these varandas. The owners Yasin Çan and his wife Hatice have a friendly, human touch and take pride in making everyone feel at ease. There are several excellent restaurants within 5 minutes walk, and if you've forgotten to bring a torch you can buy one at the little local shop right below the pansiyon.
